Emma cracks me up everyday with what goes on in her little mind. Here is one of the latest “funnies.”

Emma has a toy phone that is an Elmo phone. It has a little musical ditty that goes “la, la, la, la…la, la, la, la…it’s Elmo’s world.” She knows to hold the phone to her ear and “answer it.” Well, today as she was eating her cereal out of her Elmo bowl, when she got to the bottom and could see the Elmo face there, she put her hand to her ear, like she was answering the phone! I think her wires are crossed but it is sooo funny!

It’s funny ’cause I have a photo in Emma’s room of Richard, Carter, Monica and myself taken a couple years ago at a Greensboro Hoppers game. Every morning, just about, Emma points to it and I tell her who is in the photo. Today, I swear she said Mon-e-ca. Then, right after she said, Ma-ca! I know she knew what she was saying, too! I nearly freaked out with joy! My girl is learning and she’ll be talking to me in no time.

This is a digital scrapbook layout I did of our Thanksgiving photos. We had a nice day with my Mom and Dad. My mom cooked a feast that was delicious, as always. Emma enjoyed herself and spent some of the day napping with Dad and watching football in her chair.

My cousin, Betsy, and her family came down for a short visit over the holidays. It is never long enough for us to visit and I cherish every moment. Here is a picture of Betsy’s husband, JT and their children, Emma playing with the kids, and Betsy and Emma! Of course, four children later (the last one being 4 months old) and Betsy looks beautiful! Amazing!

I can’t tell you how many times a day, I get “Baby Donald’s Busy Playgroup” shoved in my face! I got it at a consignment sale and only got it ’cause it was the only board book there. It has chewed edges and it quite worn. But, Emma has always LOVED it! She loves the rhythm of the words and believe me, I have it memorized! In one of these pictures you can tell Emma is upset because I am taking pictures and not reading to her. You can tell she is going to be a reader like her Dad (I like to read, too…just not as much as her Dad).
