I have been so worried about Emma talking. I just have felt maybe I wasn’t doing enough to encourage her. The past weekend has been nuts with me trying to finish a homework asignment and I was left feeling so guilty for neglecting my time with Emma. Well, Monday night, the night I turned in my assignment, I came home and Mom (who was watching her while I was in class) told me she is trying to say “Pablo”, one of her favorite Backyardigan characters. Well, today when she was sitting on my lap she pointed to Pablo in one of her books and said “Pab-o.” It was soooo cute! I could just eat her up.

For some reason, too, she loves my neck. She points to my collar bone protrusions all the time and just smiles. Maybe she thinks they are buttons that do something…I don’t know. But, I always tell her that my “neck.” She’s been trying to repeat it but it sounds like “dek”. LOL! Anyways, it is just so precious to hear her little voice coming out. Just more of her to love!

These are such precious photos of Ms. Emma sleeping so soundly. For the past few days, she hasn’t been napping at all but, she will sleep until 9AM. Today, she got VERY tired so I laid her down pretty late in the afternoon. I went to get her up just a short while later so she wouldn’t sleep too long into the evening. She was, of course, out like a light. She didn’t stir when I opened the door, nudged her a little, or called out her name. So, I went to grab my camera just knowing she’d be awake when I got back. She wasn’t. She slept through me flashing away. What a precious, precious baby she is! We love her so!!!

It is so funny to watch Emma eat anything because whatever it is, it has to be run through her hair as she eats. This is why she winds up in the bathtub every single night. She has either pizza, waffles, chicken grease (from nuggets), or grilled cheese in her hair. I caught her in the act with my brand new camera! She is my little baby model now!

Journaling: “I caught Emma being awfully content one afternoon. I looked up to find that she was using a box to stand on so she could read inside a ‘no-no’ drawer. I wasn’t upset. I just had to marvel at her ingenuity.”
